Crediton Community Allotment Open Day

We welcome all ages to join us for outdoor fun at the allotment. Try an activity or simply come and find out what we are doing and how you can take part. We will maintain social distancing and abide by current guidelines at all times.

Free Activities:

Gardening for Health - Spend half an hour digging, raking, making a pond area, planting bulbs or weeding to burn those calories in the fresh air!All day activity for any age so just turn up.

Allotment nature trail for children all day

Book in advance:

Gardening session for over 50's - Take part in planting a raised bed or helping create a new pond. Help our allotment flourish and keep active and healthy too!

Children's Activity: Plant some Cress

Plant cress seed to take home together with instructions on care and make a colourful label to put on your pot. Guided activity.

Children's Activity: Make a Bug Hotel

Gather material to create our bug hotel to attract mini creatures at the allotment. Once the bug hotel is built and in place come back to see what bugs have settled in. Guided activity.

Paid Activity:

Plant a Tree for Charity – Choose a fruit tree and dedicate to someone you care about. You dig a hole for the tree of your choice, plant it with guidance, surround it with bark chippings and tie a label to dedicate your tree. Visit the allotment to watch your tree grow and produce fruit.

Cost: £10 per tree, proceeds go to Westbank to help maintain the allotment.

What to Bring / Equipment

Dress for the allotment and bring your own gardening gloves and water.
