Assistant Trainer / Coach

We work in schools with children and school staff to help them close their Gender Sport Gap. We are looking for positive, motivated and inspiring individuals to join our coaching team delivering courses and workshops in schools. All our sessions are delivered by two trainers. As an Assistant Trainer you will work alongside our experienced Lead Trainers. You don’t need any specific coaching qualifications or experience just a willingness to learn and get stuck in. About Assistant Trainer / Coach

The successful candidate will work alongside our Lead Trainers delivering an agreed programme of courses and workshops with children and school staff within primary schools in Bradford. You need to be able to build positive relationships with school staff, parents and other trainers as well as acting as a role model for the children in the sessions. Promoting Totally Runable's values and keeping up to date with equity issues in the Sport, PE and Physical Activity sectors are a key part of the role.

Summary of Skills and Qualifications

Essential - You will need

  • A broad understanding of sport and physical activity equity issues
  • To be confident, friendly and energetic with good communication skills
  • The ability to motivate yourself and others and to work as part of a team
  • Excellent time management
  • Passion for female participation in PE, sport and physical activity
  • Good general fitness
  • The ability to travel independently to locations across Bradford to deliver sessions

Please note - You will be subject to a DBS check

Desirable

  • Coaching qualifications or Primary PE specialism
  • Experience of delivering PE lessons and/or sports clubs to KS1/2 children in a school environment or working with children/young people in the community
  • Awareness of the landscape of school PE and sport, barriers to female participation and barriers to BAME participation
  • Experience of organisation and delivery of sports events e.g. sports days, tournaments or PE conferences
  • An understanding of the education sector
  • An understanding of school/club links
  • An understanding of mindset training themes e.g. Growth Mindset
  • Interest in running or interest and/or involvement in sport
  • First aid qualification
  • Safeguarding and child protection training
  • Current driving license and own vehicle
