Active Derbyshire and Derbyshire County Council Public Health want to significantly increase the levels of physical activity of the population of Derbyshire.
Walking can be one of the most cost effective and successful activities that will contribute to increasing the physical activity levels of Derbyshire population. We want to inspire people to walk more.
Project Specifications, Outputs and Timescales
The purpose of this work is to build on and expand the conversations across the whole system around walking in order to identify how participation in walking can be increased, particularly amongst those who are currently inactive.
The work will use existing insight and knowledge to develop a person and community centred approach to design new strategies, approaches and interventions to increase the number of people walking as part of their daily life.
This will include:
- Mapping the current walking initiatives and infrastructure
- Identifying the potential opportunities
- Build collaborative working by engaging new stakeholders for example voluntary sector, workplaces, schools etc. to become part of a walking network.
- Identifying good practice
- Produce a system map for walking
- Develop a set of recommendations for progressing the system wide approach
The contract will be held with Active Partners Trust.
The term of this contract shall be from the day of commencement until the final report is formally accepted by Active Partners Trust (Active Derbyshire), approximately 23rd November until 29th January 2021.
It will be expected that the individual or organisation will work around 20 days to successfully complete the report.
The total costs for conducting this work, including travel expenses, subsidies and other expenses shall not exceed £5,000 (VAT exclusive)
