This role will focus on building connections and trust with people and organisations in local places, discovering what local priorities are and supporting community led solutions which enable people to be more active. This will include accessing physical activity as a tool to support wider outcomes which are important to them. You will be confident in starting conversations, listening, bringing people together and empowering people to take action in their local places. You will have a passion for the role physical activity can play in tackling inequalities, and creating great places to live.

About Partnerships Coordinator

The Partnerships Co-ordinator will play an important role in delivering Living Sport's new strategy, working as part of the team to empower and equip communities to embed physical activity within community life.

Job purpose

To coordinate work in local places, supporting our ambition to work in partnership with communities to equip and empower them to embed physical activity in community life. The partnership co-ordinator will be responsible for building connections to increase understanding of local priorities, create partnerships and support the development and delivery of community led solutions to be more active. This will include people accessing physical activity as a tool to support wider outcomes which are important to their community. This role will initially focus on work in two localities (to be confirmed but will include Peterborough).

Key responsibilities

  • Through listening and discovery conversations, contributing to the development of the organisation's insight and understanding of local communities of place, or people, and the role physical activity can play in enabling them to thrive, be more resilient, inclusive and connected.
  • Developing relationships with stakeholders, collaborating to support delivery of identified priorities for the community, in line with specific funded projects, and Living Sport's wider strategy.
  • Supporting the development of community led physical activity opportunities.
  • Working closely with the broader Living Sport team to bring in expertise around specific areas of physical activity
  • Implementing the learning and evaluation plan to understand the impact of the programme, sharing key learning both internally and externally.
  • · Identifying and supporting securing of funding opportunities to sustain our work in local places, based on learning and identified need.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Living Sport to contribute to the organisation's objectives.
